In Loving Memory of Matthew George Nichols

5432179c9588b41165212bb6_nicholsfamily2.jpg

On January 1, 2014, Matthew George Nichols went home to be with the Lord. Matthew was a dearly loved son, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, and student. Matthew will always be remembered and treasured as part of Mariners Christian School’s Alumni Class of 2006.

Matthew’s legacy continues to touch lives in a way that counts for eternity, just as it did when he was still on this earth. His mother Renee and several of Matthew’s friends returned to MCS to speak to middle school students about a question Matt himself would ask: “What Matters Most?” The ripple effect of Matthew’s life helped our middle school students recognize the difference between what the world values vs. what God’s values, something especially important for those eighth graders heading off into high school to comprehend.

From a beautiful website set up by the Nichols family, it reads, “It is clear that Matthew’s legacy reached beyond any age limit he had set himself. God had bigger plans through all of this as we have witnessed hundreds of lives changed…souls saved…lives for Christ recommitted…a challenge to love more… and a call to seek the Creator that Matthew knew so well.”

Please join us in continuing to pray for the Nichols family and the ongoing impact for Christ.
